The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Colombo announces a contribution of one million Euro to be granted by the Government of the Netherlands to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The funding is provided within the framework of a Humanitarian Appeal in response to the increased problems faced by Internally Displaced People (IDP) due to the recent hostilities in the North Eastern parts of Sri Lanka. The Netherlands Embassy calls upon all parties in the conflict to co-operate to the fullest with the ICRC and other agencies in their efforts to bring relief to those who are in need.
