The embassy aims to provide each company with a list of addresses upon request. Due to the many importers and agents, it is not possible however to do a screening of these organizations, in order to assess their suitability. The embassy will gladly assist in finding a consultancy organization, which might be helpful in doing screenings.

2) How and where can I find a Dutch manufacturer or trade company of the product I am looking for?
When you are looking for a Dutch manufacturer or trade company of a certain product you can search in some databases such as:
•  Holland Export
•  ABC-D register
•  Dutch Yellow Pages

When you know the name of the company you are looking for and the contact details are not available on any of the above mentioned web, you can contact the  Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) and request information from the trade register. All companies in the Netherlands are obliged to register at their local Chamber of Commerce. The website contains a trade register where information about registered companies can be found.

3) Could you help me to find addresses of local authorities?
The embassy will provide each company with a list of the relevant governmental organizations, contact details, and sometimes contact person.

4) Could you help me to find addresses of suppliers of a certain domestic product?
The embassy will provide each company with a list of addresses, therefore a detailed description of the product is necessary.

5) Could you help me do a market scan of a certain sector/product?
The Embassy is limited to giving first line information. Market scans and market research is the field of consultancy organizations. But we will gladly provide you with information on consultancy organizations.

6) Do you have information on trade related regulations, laws etc?
Yes, the embassy collects information on a continuous basis on different regulations in different sectors, as well as preferential tax exemptions etc. To be most efficient we would like to receive as detailed information as possible.

7) Could you give assitance in solving trade-related disputes with local authorities/companies?
The embassy can provide assistance in the following ways:
- contacting the related authorities to discuss the problem;
- visiting the related companies to see whether there are possibilities to resolve the dispute;
- assistance to your organization when visiting Sri Lanka.

8) Could you give assistance in obtaining the approval for setting up new businesses from local authorities?
The embassy can provide you with updated information on the regulations, timeframe and costs concerning setting up a representation in Sri Lanka. Obtaining approval for setting up is up to the relevant authorities however and the embassy cannot play a part in this.

9) Could you provide me a list of Dutch business in Sri lanka
Currently a shortlist is being prepared stating those companies who would like their company information in public.
